Looking to pick up a new hobby or further hone your own skating skills this winter? The Brighton Pavilion might just be the perfect place for you to begin skating today!
Brighton’s Pavilion, known for its rich culture and fascinating history, has become an iconic attraction in Brighton. Hosting numerous events, school trips and tours, this historic building is a must-see for locals and tourists alike.
Brighton’s Pavilion really is like no other but with the turn of leaves and drop in temperature, this renowned location becomes the place to be for winter festivities!
Every winter, with Christmas round the corner, the Pavilion Ice Rink if the perfect way to begin your holiday celebrations.
Just the other week, I visited the rink myself and thought I’d share some of my tips and experiences to ensure your trip is as memorable as mine.
Although going alone can be just as fun, I would highly recommend bringing along friends and family.
Whether just you and your family or a bigger group, the pavilion offers two different rinks and accounts for all abilities – the smaller rink is perfect for smaller children and first-time skaters while the main rink is filled with anyone from amateurs (like me!) to skilled skaters often seen pirouetting and gliding along the ice.
After my time on the ice, I ventured to the Café and bar where I enjoyed a hot chocolate from the vast menu of food – ranging from sweet treats to proper meals.
The Café is also accompanied by a seating area which overlooks the rink – perfect for any friends spectating who may not enjoy skating as much!
If you can find the time after school, I would recommend visiting in the evening of the weekdays – especially for beginners, the calmer atmosphere of the weekday rink is much more enjoyable than the busy bustle on a Saturday or Sunday.
And lastly, don’t forget to visit after dark to see the Pavilion lights and skate under the stars!
Just visiting Brighton for the winter season or a local looking to try something new, make your way to the Pavilion and wrap up warm for the perfect start to a perfect winter!
