Always a beautiful place, Brighton really comes alive at Christmas from the shops to the entertainment here’s everything to keep up your festive spirit this year.
Spanning across three weekends (5th December-22nd December), Brighton’s Festive Fayre is host to an exciting range of workshops, bars, vendors and entertainment areas for all, with free entry and an enchanting grotto this is a must for all members of the family (under 16s must be accompanied by an adult).
A tradition that started in 1993, Burning the Clocks is meant to symbolise a flicker of light in the long, dark, winter nights with thousands of people flocking to carry paper lanterns to the beach to burn them on the winter solstice as a celebration for lengthening days (21st December).
Witness the sky light up, as on the 14th December there will be a drone light show of the iconic ‘Christmas Carol’; with Matt Lucas narrating, its sure to be a magical night and bring out the spirit of Christmas in anyone!
In search for an illuminating experience? Come to Brighton lights, walk on down through a winter wonderland through Stanmer’s orchard and the stunningly lit Palm house, designed with families in mind, it is wheelchair and buggy friendly with refreshments and a newer, longer route as of this year; tickets start from just £16 (children under 2 go free) for 7th December to the 23rd.
The Brighton Pavilion is beautiful all year round but at Christmas they really outdo themselves, an ice-skating rink with magical lighting is positioned outside with a bar/ café with free spectating, it is a great deal of fun for all ages and is from the 28th November to the 5th January.
There are also various different shows and pantomimes on around this time of year, as well as the Christmas market and meeting Santa at the top of the i360, so much fun to be had this Christmas time!
