The Seasons In Between

Can you hear it? The crisp crimson and sun-baked leaves gradually falling to the ground. Rain pattering on your windows as you try to swiftly fall asleep dreaming of diving into a massive pile of crackling leaves. Can you feel it? That overwhelming urge to romanticize every small detail of your life. Or to start your yearly Gilmore Girls rewatch with a warm cup of hot chocolate. Or perhaps you can smell it. Wet pavement dehydrated from the last three months of summer. Essence of cinnamon in the breeze as you walk past your local cafe on a Monday morning. Or maybe you can taste it? Your mouth watering for apple pies, cinnamon swirls, plum cakes and anything pumpkin spice.

Don’t you love it? The warm pumpkin spice hitting your tongue sparking that fuzzy autumn feeling. It truly does taste like how autumn trees look. Crisp and serene. Autumn as arrived.

But now its November. Is it still autumn or has the Christmas spirt taken over? Shops are now filled with Christmas decorations and have nostalgic music in the background taking you back to when you were a little kid, waiting for the clock to strike seven so you could wake up your parents on Christmas morning. Stepping foot outside your house and seeing you warm breathe in the icy atmosphere. Perhaps you have already started listening to Christmas music, dancing around your house because when its Christmas everything feels perfect. Like a warm fire has started in your chest.

So, is it still autumn? Thats for you to decide.
