Simon Colbran believes his Worthing side are making progress after a shaky start in Ryman division one south.
Goals from Karl Akehurst and Gavin Gordon gave the Rebels a 2-0 win at home to Chatham Town.
Colbran said: “Chatham were the best side we have played so to win 2-0 shows that we are getting there. I said it would take time and it has but we are moving in the right direction.”
Both goals came from Jamie Brotherton crosses, with one in each half.
Colbran added: “Every goal we have scored this season has been from a cross. That is how we play, we get the ball wide and get crosses in.”
Burgess Hill came from behind to secure an impressive 3-1 win away to Ramsgate.
Danny Gainsford scored twice from set-pieces to give them an interval lead and Danny Curd added a third.
Curd, Steve Harper and Lloyd Skinner had further chances to add to the scoreline, leaving manager Gary Croydon a happy man.
He said: “We feel our play this season has been worth a lot more than the three points we had. Ramsgate have just been relegated from Ryman premier so to get three points and three goals is great.”
Eastbourne Town are second from bottom after a 3-0 defeat away to Merstham.
Manager Ady Colwell said: “We can’t expect to play well for 20 minutes and get something out of the game.”
Horsham YMCA lost 3-0 to new leaders Folkestone Invicta as Darren Smith hit a hat-trick.
