Horsham boss John Maggs is happy with their start to the season after goal in each half secured a 2-0 win over Harrow Borough and back-to-back wins at Gorings Mead.
Alex Haddow’s storming run from the centre circle helped create the opener. As Harrow backed off Haddow found Claude Seanla who fired home.
Hornets doubled their lead when defender Tony Acheampong applied a close-range finish to Russell Eldridge’s corner.
Maggs said: “They gave us one or two problems in the second half but we deserved to win, we dominated the first half and the second goal settled us down.
“We’ve got six points from three games and should have got something at Dartford last week so it’s a good start to the season for us.”
Hastings United are still looking for their first victory after a 3-1 home defeat against Dartford.
The visitors were good value for their third successive win, going ahead after 12 minutes when Lee Burns took advantage of hesitant defending.
Rob Haworth made it 2-0 just before the break with a powerful header and Burns got Dartford’s third nine minutes into the second half with another header.
Matt McLean scored a spectacular consolation for the hosts with a lob from 40 yards after the visitors’ keeper had failed to clear properly but Dartford were worthy winners.
A severely depleted Bognor side picked up their first point with a battling goalless draw at Canvey Island.
Striker Mickey Demetriou had to fill in at centre-back with the Rocks missing Michael Birmingham, Stuart Tuck, Duncan Jupp and James Crane.
Killpartrick said: “We are chuffed to get off the mark. We were missing four key players so to get a point away from home was excellent, especially on the back of our previous two result.
“Mickey has never played at centre-half at this level before and was outstanding while Sam Tucknott made his full debut and did really well.”
Killpartrick is hoping to bring a striker in on loan before tomorrow’s game against Hastings.
