Keymer and Hassocks captain John Price insists it is still Seaford’s title to lose.
The race for the championship in division three east is hotting up after the leaders lost to Sidley, who are the third of a trio of clubs chasing glory.
Price’s men took advantage to close the gap on Seaford to two points with Sidley a further seven behind.
With three games to go it is anyone’s title but Price is not getting carried away.
He said: “For a while we didn’t think we had any chance of going up so we just carried on playing the way we have played. In some respect it is quite a good habit.
“It has left us enjoying our cricket and confident when we go out to play.
“For a while it has been Seaford’s title to lose and I still think that is the case.
“At the start of the season I said the top three would be a success for us. Winning the title would be an absolute bonus but now I would be disappointed if we didn’t finish second.”
