Assistant-boss Paul Raynor hailed the improvement Crawley have made in a week after a tremendous 1-0 win at home to Wrexham.
Jamie Cook scored the only goal as Reds made it back-to-back home wins and put their 4-0 opening day drubbing at Mansfield firmly behind them.
Raynor said: “It was chalk and cheese from last Saturday against a very good Wrexham side.
“The first 20 minutes showed the quality they have got. We had to change our shape a little bit to nullify them. We did that and then got on the ball ourselves and showed that we can play.
“I am absolutely delighted. Anybody will concede that Wrexham are certainly going to be challenging for the promotion places. They have quality all over the pitch, they have got young international players and they have got experience so it is a fantastic a victory for us.”
