Doomed Bognor finished their Blue Square south campaign with a 3-1 defeat at Hayes and Yeading but boss Darin Killpartrick already has one eye on the future.
He said: “It’s been a very difficult season but now we can look to the future.
“I’m proud of what we have achieved in very trying circumstances since I took over and if we had gone down that route from the start of the season we may have stayed up.
“Now I’ll sit down with Jack (Pearce) this week and discuss what we do next but whatever we decide it will be for the best of the football club.
“I also want to thank the supporters for their support. They travelled in their numbers to Hayes and were absolutely phenomenal.”
Seb Wallis-Tayler got Bognor’s goal in the first minute but Hayes hit back for victory.
