Sussex's fab four helped English Schools under-18s claim a share of the Centenary Shield tonight.
England, with four Sussex boys in their team, won 1-0 away to leaders Republic of Ireland in their final group game.
Jacob Baptista scored the only goal 15 minutes from time, heading home at the end of a move which began with a teasing free-kick from Lewes defender Matt Whitehead, who had come on as a substitute.
Lewes team-mate David Wheeler enjoyed another good game on the right wing, ending up as captain after Danny Watson went off.
Meanwhile, Simon Johnson (Eastbourne Borough) and James Norwood (Eastbourne Town) had late chances to extend the lead against an Ireland side who boasted a long unbeaten run going into this game.
The win means England finish level on points at the top of the group with Northern Ireland and, as goal difference does not count, the duo share the Centenary Shield.
