Boss Tony Dolby is happy Hastings United have a survival target for tomorrow’s trip to Wealdstone.
United know a point at Wealdstone will secure their Ryman premier status and that suits him just fine.
He said: “It’s in our hands and that’s the way we wanted it.
“Now we have to be professional, strong and focused on the job we need to do.”
Dolby will be looking for a win but admits survival has been the goal since he took charge following the sacking of John Lambert.
He said: “It’s been very tight ever since I took over and survival has ultimately been the goal for this season.
“The aim is to get a side together which will be able to really compete for the next one.”
Scott Ramsay, Steve Elliott, Luke Newman and Zac Attwood were all unable to train on Tuesday but Dolby is confident all of them will shake off knocks to play tomorrow.
Mick Maplesden, United’s former chairman and current president, died this week.
Mr Maplesden was instrumental in hauling United out of administration in 1999 and sold his majority shareholding in the club to Dave Walters in 2003.
