Jamie Cook scored twice to fire Crawley into a 2-0 half-time lead away to Barrow in Blue Square premier.
Cook opened the scoring on 19 minutes and added a second right on half-time from the penalty spot after Adam Quinn was fouled.
Eastbourne Borough were trailing 1-0 at the interval away to York City with former Albion trialist Daniel McBreen scoring the goal on 35 minutes.
Lewes were also 1-0 behind with a very young side away to Northwich in the bottom of the table clash. Simon Grand scored with a header on 32 minutes.
