Danny Bloor has told his Worthing players it is imperative to keep their winning run going.
The Rebels have all but clinched a place in the Ryman division one south play-offs but have plenty to play for in their remaining two league matches.
Finishing second or third would hand them a home draw in the play-off semi-final with the highest place club having home advantage in the final on Saturday, May 2.
A point at home to Croydon Athletic tomorrow would formally confirm a play-off place but Bloor wants all three.
He said: “It is so important to finish as high as we can so that we have home advantage in the semi-final. If it was a choice of Fleet away on a Tuesday night or Fleet at home I know what I would prefer.
“Football is about momentum. Winning is a habit and so too is losing so we need to keep our run going.
“In theory we have a maximum of four games left this season (two league and two play-off) and there is no one saying we can’t win all four.”
Rebels have been dealt a blow with left-back Chris O’Flaherty ruled out for the season with knee ligament damage. Matt Simpson, who is available again, is likely to replace him.
Scott Kirkwood remains suspended for the last two league games, Ben Andrews is sore after playing two matches in three days after returning from a thigh problem, Glen Woodburn is struggling with a calf injury and Andy Alexander is still doubtful with a thigh injury which has ruled him out since early March.
On the plus front, goalkeeper Alan Mansfield has recovered from illness and Worthing must decide whether he returns or whether they stick with 18-year-old Ollie Barton, who deputised over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Bloor said: “Ollie acquitted himself very well in the two games.”
Barton, who has been on the bench recently with Lewes where he is dual-signed, was called back last Saturday morning when Mansfield fell ill.
Although Worthing do not have a reserve team this season, the option of Barton proves they have bases covered for the run-in. They also have the likes of Dominic Douglas, Sam Francis and Shaun Grice to call on if needed.
