Eastbourne have put themselves in pole position to be crowned champions.
The Kent/Sussex Regional League leaders beat third-placed BBHC 4-1 in their final game of the season to move three points clear.
Victory knocked BBHC out of the title equation but second-placed Worthing can still pip them if they win their final game by seven clear goals.
Worthing travel to Folkestone for that match on Saturday, April 18 and Eastbourne are not counting on anything yet.
Captain Robbie Redhead said: “We have done everything we can. Worthing have just got to go out and have a super game.
“We won’t be able to watch that match because we have a Sussex Cup semi-final with Chichester that day. It is also our dinner dance the night before so we will just have to wait on that result.”
Both Sussex sides looked like they had messed up their title chances the week before when they each dropped points against struggling sides which let BBHC into the equation.
But goals from Ali Barnes, Angus Williams, Matt Wadman and Jeremy Sumner ended their visitors’ hopes.
Redhead said: “We went 1-0 up, they equalised and then we picked our heads up and started to play good hockey. It was probably our best performance of the season.”
Worthing warmed up for the Folkestone match with a 6-1 defeat of South Saxons in their Sussex Plate semi-final thanks to goals from skipper Matt Ansell (two), Alex Warner, Joel Shepherd, Dan Ginnaw and Mike Gubbins.
In the final they will face Southwick who thrashed Littlehampton 11-0 thanks to Chris Harris (four), Jamie Bird (three), Matt Pettit (two) and James Kifford (two).
Brighton and Hove booked a place in the Sussex Cup final after coming from behind to win 2-1 away to Lewes.
Rory Jervis puts the hosts ahead but Jamie Franklin levelled before half-time and Ben Butlin hit a second-half winner.
Brighton have been in tremendous form since Hugh Salter took over at Christmas. From looking certainties for relegation at the winter break, they stayed up comfortably.
Vice captain Simon Turner said: “It will be a fitting end to our season. The way we have played in the second half of the season we deserve a day out like that, especially Hugh.”
In Kent/Sussex division one, Middleton and Bognor lost 4-0 away to Burnt Ash.
