Bognor’s relegation from Blue Square south was confirmed after they went down 4-1 at Welling United.
Jahson Downes’ seventh goal in 11 games for the Rocks had given them the lead midway through the first half but Welling fought back through Sanchez Ming, Sam Hurrell, Moses Ademola and Charlie Sheringham.
It was Bognor’s third defeat in a row after four wins in six games had offered a glimmer of hope and leaves them 15 points behind fourth bottom Dorchester with only four games remaining.
Their hopes of potentially gaining a reprieve by finishing third from bottom are also fading fast as they trail Thurrock by ten points.
