Albion are on the verge of keeping Ian Westlake for the rest of the season.
They hope to complete a deal today with play-off rivals Leeds to stretch the loan spell of the former Ipswich midfielder.
Westlake's month on the south coast expires after Saturday's home game against Port Vale but, barring any late hitches, he should be with Albion for the rest of the campaign.
That is likely to include the play-offs, unless the Seagulls end up playing Leeds.
