Danny Bloor believes a 1-0 win over leaders Dover shows the progress Worthing have made.

Ben Andrews scored the only goal in the closing stages as the champions-elect were beaten in the league for only the third time this season.

Joint boss Bloor said: "I am sure our rivals, the likes of Burgess Hill, Dulwich and Kingstonian, were expecting us to lose.

"For us it was a good measure because we needed to see how good our youngsters like Karly Akehurst and Jamie Brotherton were against the league winners. Dover have not won it yet but they will do and I even believe they are good enough for Conference south. We went to them early on in the season with, on paper, a stronger side and we lost 3-0.

"We have let six players go - Andy Lutwyche, Leo Day, Dean Lovegrove, Danny Davis, Ollie Rowland and Shaheen Sadough - and not replaced them, with the exception of Jerahl Hughes so it shows the progress we have made.

"We have done nothing yet, though. We have four games to go and we can't think we are in the play-offs just because we have beaten Dover.

"We must enjoy the plaudits this weekend but (joint boss) Alan Pook and I are very mindful of keeping our feet on the ground."

Hughes, the young striker on loan from Yeovil, set up the only goal with a terrific cross which Andrews headed home.
