Hastings United boss Tony Dolby wants a couple more wins to make sure his side avoid the dreaded drop.

United clinched only their second away league win of the season with a crucial 1-0 victory at fellow strugglers Heybridge Swifts on Saturday and it saw them leap to 14th in the table, four points clear of the relegation places.

Four wins in their last five games have seen United move to 47 points but Dolby knows there is still more work to do before it is mission accomplished.

He said: "We have put ourselves in a good position and it is in our hands . I wanted 50 points when I took over but we need a couple more wins to make ourselves safe.

"We have won four of last five games and that is promotion form. A lot of hard work has gone in over the last few matches and that's why we have moved up the table."

Sam Adams struck from the penalty spot in the tenth minute after Tom Devaux felled Lee Carey as he burst into the penalty area.
