Boss Michael Birmingham believes Bognor may need another three wins to avoid relegation from Blue Square south.

Birmingham had set his side a target of reaching 40 points to be safe a few weeks ago but the resurgence of St Albans and Welling has forced him to rethink.

Despite taking 11 points from their last seven games the Rocks are still only three points above the drop zone ahead of the visit of Newport County tomorrow.

Birmingham said: "It is going to go down to the wire at both ends of the table and I think we will still need a result on the final day of the season to stay up.

"Teams at the bottom like Welling and St Albans are picking up a lot of points now so I think the team who comes third from bottom could have the most points in the history of this division. It could take 45 points to stay up so that means we need three more wins."

David Birmingham returns from suspension but David Ray and Andy Pearson are still ruled out while the Rocks are hopeful former Portsmouth defender Joe Oastler will be available.
