Nigel Brake has had another injury set-back.

The Horsham full-back returned last week following a month on the sidelines with a knee injury.

But he has aggravated the problem and missed Saturday's 2-0 win at Boreham Wood which put the Hornets back in the top five.

Brake has also been ruled out of Monday's showdown with play-off rivals Tonbridge Angels at Queen Street.

Manager John Maggs said: "It is a blow. Nigel is a big player for us. A lump has come up on his knee but hopefully he will be back again soon."

Kevin Hemsley came in for Brake at Boreham Wood and is set to continue on Monday when Hornets welcome back former assistant manager Tommy Warrilow, coach Chris Cant and winger John Westcott.

Another former Hornet, Carl Rook, will miss the match through suspension. The striker was due to serve his ban against Hendon on Saturday, but the match was postponed.

Hemsley and Simon Austin netted in the first half at Boreham Wood.

Former Lewes winger Dwain Clarke, who was signed from Staines, impressed on his debut.

Hastings are ready to appeal against the sending off of midfielder Tim Olorunda.

Olorunda saw red after giving away a penalty in relegation-haunted United's 3-1 Good Friday defeat against Ashford Town.

Hastings manager Tony Dolby said: "We have only got six matches to play and cannot afford to lose Tim for three of them. It wasn't a deliberate handball."

Hastings are at home to fellow strugglers Folkestone on Monday.

Eastbourne Town boss Ady Colwell has warned his side not to relax until Ryman division one south safety is assured.

Town edged closer to beating the drop with a 2-1 win away to fellow strugglers Corinthian Casuals.

Liam Baitup scored the winner with three minutes to go after Luke Denton hit a 69th- minute equaliser to cancel out Dale Hennessey's opener for Casuals on the hour.

Victory took Town 12 points above Horsham YMCA in the second relegation place but Colwell insists they can take nothing for granted.

He said: "We are not mathematically certain yet and until we are we can't relax. Earlier in the season we showed a bit of inexperience because we got a few results and started patting ourselves on the back.

"We ended up getting dragged into trouble so we can't start thinking we are okay until it is certain."

Town completed the comeback after using the windy conditions to their advantage.

Colwell said: "We wanted to try to keep it at 0-0 in the first half and then, with the wind behind us, try to get more diagonal balls in during the second half. It worked because both goals came from crosses."

Horsham YMCA's faint hopes of avoiding relegation were effectively ended by two dubious penalties which condemned them to a 3-2 defeat at home to Kingstonian.

Bobby Traynor converted both spot kicks after Dean Lodge had gone down in the area to break YM's hearts after goals from Richard Greenfield and Greg Palmer had put them 2-1 up.

The result leaves them ten points adrift of safety with six games to go ahead of Monday's Sussex derby at Burgess Hill.

YM boss John Suter said: "We thought both of the penalties were harsh. Phil Fitzgerald made minimal contact for the first one and Glen Woodburn got the ball for the second one but that is the way your luck goes when you are down the bottom.

"It is hard to take because we had got ourselves into the lead but that is the story of our season I suppose."

Burgess Hill's game at bottom club Molesey was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

The other all-Sussex clash on Monday sees Eastbourne Town host Worthing.

The Rebels strengthened their challenge for a play-off place on Friday when goals from Ben Andrews and Jerahl Hughes earned a 2-1 win at home to Dulwich Hamlet.
