Cameron Woodward can be Eastbourne Eagles' secret weapon as they aim to end their miserable run on the road.

That is the verdict of manager Trevor Geer as Eagles chase three Craven Shield points at Swindon tonight (7.30pm).

While most eyes were on Eastbourne's star signings, Woodward dropped just one point from four rides as Eagles beat Swindon 52-41 at Arlington on Monday.

With away wins now worth three points, Eagles can take command of Group C, which also includes Poole, if they record their first road success since late 2006 tonight.

Geer said: "I'm confident we can do it and I see Cameron being a big factor.

"He looked so good on Monday and he will be even better on the bigger tracks.

"He finished last season well and he knows he has to step up a gear this year.

"He is riding in Sweden and Poland this season which will not be easy but it will benefit him enormously."

Lee Richardson returns to the track he called home for the last three seasons.

Richardson averaged 9.96 per four races, with five full maximums, in 22 home meetings for Swindon last season though he might find it tougher going against home riders.

Edward Kennett also has a liking for the Abbey Stadium. He was paid for 22 points from 12 races on three visits last season, including one as a guest for the Robins.

Swindon will again need a big night from skipper Leigh Adams, who dominated their scoresheet on Monday. Adams had nine maximums in 22 home fixtures last season, dropping just 23 points in 109 races.

The two lines-ups are unchanged from Monday's meeting.

Robins: Adams, Korneliusson, Batchelor, Wright, McGowan, Pijper, Alden.

Eagles: Nicholls, Bridger, Richardson, Woodward, Kennett, Gustafsson, Brundle.
