Goalkeeper Alan Mansfield hopes to be fit to help Horsham YMCA win their seemingly fated fight against relegation.
Mansfield had to be substituted after colliding with a post as YM slumped to a 3-0 to mid-table hosts Whyteleafe. Defender Andy Flack took over in goal but a brace from Joel Greaves and a Sam Clayton penalty sealed defeat.
The result leaves YM nine points adrift of safety and Mansfield believes they need to win six of their last seven matches to pull off a great escape.
Mansfield said: "I desperately want to play my part. The knee swelled up but I hope to be fit for the weekend."
Eastbourne Town manager Ady Colwell is confident his side can stay up if they repeat their second-half showing in the 3-1 home defeat against second-place Tooting and Mitcham.
They trailed 2-0 at the interval to goals by John-Henry Hayden and Paul Vine. Liam Baitup reduced the arrears before a Romald Bouadji wonder-goal sealed defeat.
Colwell said: "We are still looking over our shoulders but the manner of our second-half performance gives me optimism."
Worthing joint-manager Danny Bloor was left bemused after his side lost 3-2 at Kingstonian.
Rebels twice came from behind thanks to goals from Scott Kirkwood and Jamie Brotherton which cancelled out a Bobby Traynor penalty and Tommy Williams free-kick. Simon Huckle headed the hosts ahead before Brotherton had a second goal ruled out for offside.
Bloor said: "It was bizarre. They didn't create any chances and we gave them all three goals."
Burgess Hill player-manager Jamie Howell praised teenager Phil Elkins for his contribution to their 3-1 home win against nine-man Corinthian Casuals.
The visitors were leading when they had goalkeeper Paul Smith sent off for a foul on Elkins. Casuals scorer Lee Matthews was also dismissed and Elkins helped set up the leveller for Lloyd Cotton before Steve Harper netted twice.
Howell said: "Phil turned the game for us."
