Horsham hope to secure their proposed ground-share with Crawley Town this week.

The Hornets are due to hold talks with Crawley Borough Council and the Reds before meeting with Ryman League officials on Thursday.

Secretary John Lines said: "We hope to get firm proposals of agreement from the council and Crawley that we can put to the Ryman League.

"We hope the sticking point over fixture clashes can be sorted out. With goodwill on all sides I'm sure it can."

Horsham are desperately trying to arrange a ground-share as they have to leave their Queen Street home at the end of the season after selling it to property developers.

Broadfield Stadium is their preferred choice but talks collapsed last week, prompting suggestions the club faced expulsion from the league.

Meanwhile, Hornets revived their play-off hopes with a 2-1 home victory against in-form Ashford Town thanks to goals from Danny Davis and substitute Simon Austin. It ended a run of two points from five games and puts them back in the top five.

Manager John Maggs said: "We were back to our old selves."

Hornets have signed midfielder Dwaine Clarke from Staines with Jason Ward (Croydon) and Ben Rayner (Carshalton) departing.

Hastings boss Tony Dolby praised match-winner Ade Olorunda and on-loan Steve Elliott as his side took another step towards safety with a 1-0 home win over Harrow Borough.

Dolby said: "Ade is in good, scoring form and Steve has ability and desire."
