Lewes have dismissed rumours that the club are facing financial problems.

There have been numerous suggestions on internet message boards that players have not been paid and that the club is in trouble but commercial director Steve White insists this is not true.

He said: "There is no foundation in any of these rumours. It can only be someone trying to destabilise the situation in the hope that it takes our eyes off our goal of promotion.

"We have spent a considerable amount of money in recent weeks in bringing the ground up to the required standard for our ground grading. Why would we do that if there are problems?"

The only problems for the club are injury concerns ahead of tomorrow's visit of lowly St Albans.

Simon Wormull and Dale Binns are both definitely out while Gary Holloway, Jean-Michel Sigere, Leon Legge and Lewis Hamilton are all carrying knocks, although manager Steven King expects them to be in the squad.

Paul Booth returns following a stomach upset but former Republic of Ireland international Mark Kinsella, who made his debut as a stop-gap measure due to the injury problems in the midweek 3-0 defeat at Braintree, is not expected to be involved.

St Albans remain third from bottom but have won their last two games, scoring seven goals in the process.

Former Albion stalwart Steve Burtenshaw, who enjoyed a distinguished career as Arsenal coach and also managed QPR, is guest of honour at tomorrow's game.
