Bognor's failure to turn possession into chances cost them dear as they made it four games without a win with a 2-0 Conference south defeat at Cambridge City last night.
The Rocks made a decent start and saw plenty of the ball in the early stages of the first half but were unable to get a clear sight at Danny Naisbitt's goal.
Ben Watson worked the ball well to Marcus Farrell with just three minutes on the clock but the winger had his shot blocked by home defender Lee Chaffey.
Scott Chamberlain also had a sniff on ten minutes but he blasted his effort over the bar.
After that, City got a hold on the game and they went in front on 21 minutes when Lee Roache took the ball down in the Bognor penalty area, turned inside defender Matt Ruby and drilled a shot past Craig Stoner.
Any chance of the away side getting back into the game was made all the harder when the hosts doubled the lead six minutes into the second half.
Bognor left-back Seb Wallis-Taylor was punished for a pull back on Roache and Michael Gash scored with a low shot direct from the resulting free- kick.
Bognor were denied by a brilliant one-handed stop by Naisbitt from a point-blank Ben Watson header from Richard Hudson's cross on 67 minutes.
Bognor: Stoner, Beck, Wallis-Taylor, Howell, Ruby, Rowland (Balfe 53), Watson, Birmingham (Johnson 45), Chamberlain, Nightingale, Farrell (Hudson 45).
