Goalkeeper Tommy Forecast bids to end his loan spell at Eastbourne Borough on a positive note tomorrow.

The giant Southampton stopper has conceded 22 goals since arriving at Priory Lane four weeks ago and will be seeking his first clean sheet in seven games at Fleetwood.

Forecast was brought in after regular No.1 Rikki Banks committed a string of expensive errors and made an immediate impact with a man-of-the-match display on debut against Gateshead.

But the 24-year-old has also been at fault for a number of goals in recent games and head coach Nick Greenwood admits no decision has yet been made on whether to extend his loan.

Greenwood said: “Tommy could play in the Senior Cup next week but I don’t think we’ll bring him up from Southampton for that so tomorrow will be his last game. Then we will have to make a decision on whether to keep him or bring Rikki back in.

“He has made some good saves but equally he will put his hand up and admit he has made one or two bad errors, which is understandable for a young goalkeeper.

“Rikki is a very good goalkeeper but we just had to take him out of the firing line for a while. I am confident he will come back and show what a good goalkeeper he is.”

Borough have injury concerns over Simon Johnson, Matt Smart, Steven Brinkhurst and Ethan Strevett but are hopeful all will be fit for the trip to Fleetwood. Matt Langston and Ross Treleaven remain sidelined.
