Lewes are still looking for their first win in Blue Square south but manager Steve Ibbitson was a happier man after a goalless 0-0 with second-placed Basingstoke.
The visitors had a good spell in the first half but otherwise the Rooks were on top.
Ryan Storrie had a header cleared off the line in the first half and David Wheeler was denied a winner by visiting keeper Ross Kittridge in stoppage time.
Ibbitson said: “I am pleased with the performance but disappointed the lads didn’t get the win they deserved out of it.
"We started the brighter but they they had a 25-minute spell when they were on top and you could see why they are second in the table. I said to the lads that will happen and we have to change our tempo to do the nasty things and make sure we don’t concede.
“We got back on top and they didn’t give us any trouble in the second half.
Meanwhile, Ibbitson has confirmed left-back Sam Fisk has left the club.
