Lewes paid for missing their chances as they were made to settle for a fourth draw in five games away to St Albans.
Sam Crabb scored his second of the season for the Rooks but the hosts levelled in the 90th minute as the game ended 1-1.
Crabb scored at the second attempt on 67 minutes after good work down the right from David Wheeler but manager Steve Ibbitson was left frustrated by the home side’s late leveller.
He said: “I am really disappointed because it is another game we should have won.
“In the second half we had five one-on-ones with their keeper and I can’t remember any clearcut chances for them.”
Substitute Louis Pople failed to take a chance in stoppage time moments after St Albans had equalised.
