Lewes were denied their first win of the season away to Newport County in Blue Square south.
The Rooks led 2-1 until four minutes from time thanks to goals from Sam Crabb and Joe Keehan, from David Wheeler's excellent run and cros.
But Newport, who had cancelled out Crabb's opener early in the second half, forced a second equaliser to ensure a share of the spoils.
Manager Steve Ibbitson said: ““If you had offered me 2-2 in the morning I would have taken it but when you are 2-1 up with four minutes to go it seems like a loss.”
