Steve King is confident he will keep Whitehawk up - but he expects it will go the distance.
Hawks chase their first win of the season when Hungerford visit in National League south today.
King will unleash three more signings but, as his usual practice, is not willing to divulge names ahead of teamsheet time.
Hawks have gone ahead in the three games for which he has been in charge.
But they have conceded unfortunate equalisers on each occasion on their way to a draw and two defeats.
A deflected shot and a mis-hit cross which flew in off the far post pegged Hawks back at home to Oxford City and St Albans respectively.
They were incensed by the penalty decision which allowed Wealdstone to get back on terms last Saturday before winning 2-1.
King told The Argus: “The more games we play as a group, the better we will be. We have thrown a whole new group together.
“Ramone Rose is the only one left from the squad I took over. When people play us now, they realise they are in for a tough game.
“Before, they were beating Whitehawk by big scores.
“I am very confident we will stay up but it will go down to the wire because we need to evolve as a team. Once we start clicking as a team we will win games of football.”
Lucas Rodrigues has gone on loan to Burgess Hill for a month and Addison Garnett completes his loan stint from Crawley this weekend.
