Ian Chapman is expecting another tough game tomorrow as Burgess Hill return to knockout action in the FA Trophy.
The Hillians’ FA Cup run ended last Saturday when they lost 3-1 to Conference side Dartford after playing with ten men for more than half the game when Toby Pointing was sent off.
They will again be the underdogs today when Southern League Chesham United visit the Green Elephants Stadium but Chapman says his side are well-equipped to give them a stern test.
Chapman said: “It’s going to be a really hard game as they are from a higher standard than us.
“But if we acquit ourselves against them like we have done against other sides this season then we have a chance. They are a good footballing side but we need to concentrate on us.
“We froze a little bit last weekend early on and we don’t want to do that again.”
Boss Chapman is delighted with the competition for places with captain Darren Budd poised to return to the starting line-up after coming on and scoring against Dartford.
Chapman added: “It’s a nice position that our captain can’t get in the side but when he came on last Saturday he was fantastic and hopefully will go on to have a good run of games now.”
Budd replaces Graham Martin, who is out with a groin injury, while Spencer Slaughter is unavailable and Pointing doubtful with a knock.
