East Grinstead will be playing in the Ryman League next season.
The Wasps’ promotion to Ryman south was confirmed this evening when the Football Association announced the steps 1 to 4 divisional allocations for 2014-15.
However, Crawley Down Gatwick’s hopes of a reprieve from relegation back to the County League have been ended.
Under former Albion forward Simon Funnell, Grinstead have enjoyed an excellent season.
They held off a strong challenge from Littlehampton, Horsham YMCA and Crowborough to finish runners-up to East Preston.
The champions were denied promotion after failing to meet the March 31 ground grading deadline and a subsequent appeal to that decision has been rejected.
Crawley Down finished second from bottom in Ryman south and expected to be relegated, although there were suggestions that they may be handed a reprieve from the drop. However, that is not the case.
Redhill, though, have been spared relegation from Ryman south.
The composition of next season’s County League divisions will be resolved now that it is known which teams are going up and coming down.
