Eastbourne Borough boss Tommy Widdrington is happy for his team to stay under the radar.

Borough go into today’s Conference south game at home to second-placed Bromley just a point outside the play-offs.

They have lost just one of the last five matches and have players coming back into the squad tomorrow.

Widdrington said: “To get to the last eight games of the season, not having been outside the top half all season, it surprises me that people keep saying we are doing all right.

“We are under the radar, a team people aren’t thinking about. I’m pleased we have shown the consistency and I just hope we can keep doing it for the final eight games.”

Matt Aldred missed the midweek win at Maidenhead due to illness and Chris Shephard was at a family funeral but both are available today.

The only player missing is Charlie Gorman who serves the second of a two-match ban.

Borough’s academy side – managed by Jay Lovett – this week reached the Conference Youth League Cup final after beating Colchester 2-1.

Widdrington added: “To get to a cup final in their first season is a fantastic achievement."
