Long-serving Worthing midfielder Paul Kennett has announced his retirement.
Kennett has played more than 300 games in three spells for the Rebels after first joining at 18 after being released by Albion.
He made a comeback to the squad for Monday's Senior Cup semi-final with Peacehaven after five months off due to work commitments but has now decided it is time to retire.
Rebels boss Adam Hinshelwood said: “Kenno felt it was the right time to give the younger players a chance. He felt the club is going in the right direction and he has enjoyed spending the extra time at home with his family.
"It is sad news but we wish him the best, he has been a great servant to the club.”
With Jack Fagan still injured, Hinshelwood is trying to bring Josh James back to the club from Ringmer for the game at Hastings, although he was happy with youth team keeper Chris Cooke against Peacehaven.
The U’s have signed former Harrow Borough striker Tristan Toney, who can also play in midfield.
Striker Frankie Sawyer should be fit after coming off in Tuesday’s draw at Whitstable as a precaution.
