Steven King believes Whitehawk have a cup final to win tomorrow.
The relegation-threatened Hawks host fellow Conference south strugglers Tonbridge Angels at the Enclosed Ground.
King’s side impressed when drawing 1-1 with third-placed Ebbsfleet last Saturday and caused leaders Eastleigh a few concerns when losing 4-1 in midweek.
Now, though, he knows it is time to start picking up points if they want to avoid an immediate return to Ryman premier.
King said: “Tonbridge and ourselves are both in the same boat. Both of us, as managers, will be looking to win this game. It is a mini cup final.
“We still have to play Dorchester, Hayes and Yeading, Tonbridge, Boreham Wood and Maidenhead. It is a league within a league and we must collect enough points.”
King is trying to bolster his squad with a number of signings ahead of the run-in, particularly as injuries are testing a small squad. Dean McDonald has missed the last two games with an ankle injury while Lee Hills, left, suffered a tight hamstring in Tuesday’s defeat.
Dominic Green has returned to the club on loan from Ebbsfleet for the rest of the season.
