Danny Bloor admits the current fixture schedule is hurting Lewes.

The Rooks have played six games in the last 18 days and have a number of injury concerns ahead of today’s trip to Lowestoft in Ryman premier.

Ben Austin is struggling with an ongoing back injury while Jack Maloney is unlikely to play after coming off early with a hernia problem in Wednesday’s 5-1 defeat at home to AFC Hornchurch.

Nathan Crabb and Andy Pearson are both troubled by knee injuries while Jack Walder (flu) and Nicky Wheeler (work) both missed the midweek match.

Bloor said: “For a non-league team to play the number of games we are currently playing is nigh on impossible. You wouldn’t get professionals playing this number of games and we have people getting up for work at 5am.”

Lewes have signed young French forward Max Agnoley, who was an unused substitute against Hornchurch.

They have also taken young Portsmouth midfielder George Branford on a one-month loan.

The 19-year-old is a first-year professional who has yet to make his senior debut for Pompey. He goes straight into the squad for today’s trip to Lowestoft.
