John Maggs says there is no shortage of character in the dressing room as Hastings United try to stop AFC Sudbury claiming a hat-trick of Sussex scalps in the FA Trophy.
The Ryman north side have already knocked out two Sussex clubs so far, Worthing and Crawley Down Gatwick, but both wins were on their home patch.
Boss Maggs expects another tough game for United, who are second in Ryman south, but has no fears about his side’s ability to dig in when the going gets tough.
Maggs said: “Three or four times this season we have sat in the dressing room at half-time trailing and got out there and turned it round.
“It shows we have character and these players are not ones who will just roll over.”
Maggs believes that resolve may be needed for what is expected to be a hard game at the Pilot Field.
He added: “I have information on them as they beat Crawley Down and Worthing in previous rounds but obviously nothing is going to get easier as we progress.
“The good thing we have got going is we’re in good form results-wise and every manager talks about winning habits and we certainly have that at the moment.
“AFC Sudbury’s wins have come at home so this is the first time for them coming to Sussex.
“I am glad we’re not going to their place with them aiming to knock out the third club from the county and our form at home is not bad.
“They are at the same level as us, are a strong unit and have some pace down the flanks. We know how to set out stall.
“Although, it’s a tricky tie we shall be looking for a result.”
