Sussex can expect a £250,000 windfall after landing a lucrative clash with Australia next year.
The Aussies will play a three-day game at Hove between the second and third Ashes Tests at the end of July.
A crowd of nearly 25,000 packed into the PROBIZ County Ground over four days the last time Australia visited in 2009.
That generated £200,000 for the club and chief executive Dave Brooks believes the match can be even more profitable this time despite being a day shorter.
Brooks said: “If we do it really well then I would hope we can bring in £250,000. You don't just get full houses over the three days but it also sucks in a lot of hospitality and secondary revenue. It is fantastic for the club. You only get these pay days every four years so we want to make the most of it.
“We enjoyed a brilliant four days against Australia in 2009 and we’re equally excited about playing them next year.
“Clearly it would have been better to have them for four days but we had that last time and other counties have to have their fair share.
“The timing of the match is good too because the series will be under way and there will be a lot of interest.”
