Two batsmen made centuries as Sussex enjoyed a winning start to their CB40 campaign today.
Matt Machan stole the show with a superb 126 not out and Ed Joyce scored 102 in a 144-run win over Unicorns at sunny Hove.
It was a first Sussex century for Machan.
The 21-year-old local boy shared a second-wicket stand worth 175 with Joyce as Sussex, having won the toss, reached 291-3 in their 40 overs.
Unicorns slumped to 22-3 in the eighth over and were never in the hunt, closing on 147-9.
Former Somerset all-rounder Keith Parsons top scored for them with 32. Chris Nash took 3-28.
