Play has been abandoned without a ball being bowled for the third day in a row in Sussex's Championship match against Lancashire at Hove.
Despite brighter weather the outfield and, particularly, the bowlers' run-ups were deemed to be unplayable by the umpires after a second pitch inspection at 3pm.
Both teams were keen to play but the umpires were concerned for player safety.
There is hope there will be play tomorrow - the final day - if there is no more rain.
