Sussex failed to take a wicket in the 18.4 overs that were possible on a showery day at Taunton in the Championship match against Somerset yesterday.
The hosts, replying to Sussex’s record breaking 742-5 reached 164-0 with Marcus Trescothick (71) and Arul Suppiah (80) both closing in on centuries.
Trescothick achieved his best ever aggregate for a domestic season when he reached 70 and now has 1,401 runs but with a day to go Sussex’s only aim will be to secure some bowling bonus points.
