Sussex will meet Somerset Sabres in tonight's Twenty20 Cup final at Edgbaston.
Mike Yardy and his players returned to their team hotel after beating Northamptonshire Steelbacks in the first semi to watch on TV as the Sabres powered to a seven-wicket win over Kent Spitfires with seven balls to spare.
Marcus Trescothick set Somerset on their way with 56 while James Hildreth made 36 and South African Zander De Bruyn an unbeaten 33.
Earlier, Kent had been restricted to 145-5 despite 77 from 51 balls by Darren Stevens. They were soon in trouble at 31-3 after Alfonso Thomas removed Joe Denly and Martin van Jaarsveld but a stand of 62 between Stevens and skipper Rob Key enabled them to post a competitive score.
But the feeling is that the pitch has got better to bat on and Trescothick proved it by launching a brilliant assault during the six power play overs.
Trescothick smashed 56 off just 32 balls with eight fours and two sixes as Kent's seam attack was taken apart.
