The opening day of Sussex's County Championship clash with Middlesex at Merchant Taylors' School has been washed out by rain.
Play was eventually abandoned at 3.40pm without a ball being bowled and with the forecast not looking promising for the rest of the week a result must already be doubtful.
England wicketkeeper Matt Prior has travelled as part of the squad but Sussex have yet to name a final team for the match.
