Two former Sussex players are set to be charged today with allegedly fixing the outcome of a county match.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is expected to announce the charges against former New Zealand batsman Lou Vincent and pace bowler Naved Arif, who played for Pakistan A, over fixing the 40-over match between Sussex and Kent at Hove in August 2011.
The players, neither of whom play in England any more, face lifetime bans - effective worldwide - if the charges are proven.
Lou Vincent is already under investigation by the International Cricket Council for alleged match-fixing but this would be an ECB charge and the first case of an ECB match being fixed.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the match attracted bets totalling more than £12million on one legal gambling website alone, the highest total for any match of its kind in the past three years, which drew suspicions at the time but was cleared by the ICC's anti-corruption unit.
There is no suggestion that any other player from either Sussex or Kent was involved.
