Former Sussex spinner Monty Panesar has been given a suspended one-match ban for acting in an potentially intimidating and threatening manner towards the opposition while playing for Essex.
The incident happened during a Championship match against Worcestershire at the start of September with the ban suspended until the end of next season pending any further breach of the ECB’s code of conduct.
Sussex allowed Panesar to join Essex on loan in August after he was involved in an incident outside a Brighton nightclub with the county announcing they would terminate his contract at the end of the season.
