Sussex have been put in the group of death for the new 50-over competition next season.
The county have been put in Group B along with both 40-over finalists from this summer - Glamorgan and Nottinghamshire - along with traditionally powerful one-day sides Somerset, Surrey and Warwickshire.
The group is made up by Middlesex, Kent and Championship winners Durham while Group A features Lancashire, Essex, Leicestershire, Northants, Yorkshire, Worcestershire, Derbyshire, Gloucestershireand Hampshire.
The new format sees each team play four teams at home and the other four away with the top four teams from each group qualifying for the quarter-finals.
Sussex have also been placed in the South Group for the Natwest t20 competition next season along with Glamorgan, Essex, Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Kent, Middlesex, Somerset and Surrey.
