Sussex are set for a potentially testing last day of their Championship tussle with Warwickshire.
The county reached 148-3 – a lead of 65 – by stumps today against the under-strength hosts at Edgbaston.
Wicketkeeper Tim Ambrose has joined Warwickshire’s injured list because of a small fracture in his right thumb. Understudy Pete McKay replaced him behind the stumps.
Warwickshire chiselled out a handy first innings lead as their last two wickets produced 69 runs.
The excellent Steve Magoffin took 5-87 but Sussex, for whom Luke Wells and Mike Yardy both scored 46 second time around, will have to produce something special tomorrow to grab a win.
