Laurie Evans again rode to Warwickshire's rescue today – and frustrated Sussex at Edgbaston.
Evans made 137 in averting a crisis for his side in the Championship clash.
Although the champions polished off Sussex’s first innings for 311, Chris Jordan making 61, their own top order crumbled as Steve Magoffin claimed his 50th and 51st wickets of the season without conceding a run.
Evans, though, reached three figures for the third successive home as they trimmed the deficit to 59 on closing the second day at 252-6.
Magoffin has taken 3-54.
