Sussex won their opening County Championship game for only the third time in 14 seasons as they completed a comfortable victory over Yorkshire at Headingley.
Yorkshire began the final day still trailing by 32 runs on 228-8 in their second innings but lost their final two wickets in just 6.1 overs as Sussex triumphed by an innings and 12 runs.
Chris Jordan made the breakthrough as he had Jack Brooks caught at slip by Mike Yardy to finish with figures of 2-42 in the second innings and match figures of 8-90.
Steve Magoffin then completed a five-wicket haul as he had Gary Ballance caught behind for 63 two balls later as Yorkshire were dismissed for 248. Magoffin finished with 5-51 and 7-69 overall.
The victory gave Sussex 23 points and put them on top of the division one table after the opening round of matches.
Sussex take a break from Championship action next week before travelling to The Oval the following week.
