Jess Walker endured Olympic heartache at Eton Dorney today.
The Brighton sprint canoeist led the women's four to fifth place in the final of the K4 500 metres.
GB finished strongly after a slow start but could not quite get in the medals.
It was another near-miss after finishing fourth in both the World Championships last year and European Championships this year.
Hungary took gold, avenging a hat-trick of Olympic final defeats by the Germans, who won silver, with Belarus third and Poland fourth.
Walker now has a rest before opening her K1 200 challenge on Friday morning.
