The GB men's hockey team, packed with Sussex players, face a crunch Olympic qualification match against Spain tonight.
They need to avoid defeat in their final group game at the Riverbank Arena (7pm) to stay above their opponents and go through to the semi-finals as runners-up to Australia, who were 5-0 up against Pakistan this morning in the closing stages.
GB would then play the Netherlands, winners of the other group, in the last four on Thursday night (8pm).
Captain Barry Middleton has three goals in the competition so far and star man Ashley Jackson four. They are joined in the side by East Grinstead colleagues Glenn Kirkham and Iain Lewers, together with former Lewes player Ben Hawes.
Brighton-born Ashleigh Ball and the GB women are already through to a semi-final against Argentina tomorrow night (8pm).
